When designing your furniture layout for large scale rooms, oriental rugs
– in sizes such as 10’x14′, 12’x15′, 12’x18′, 14’x24′ and larger –
are more easy to work with in all over patterns.
This allows for floating furniture placement without cutting off
the rug’s center medallion or corner spandrel design elements.
The same concept applies to dining rooms with pedestal tables,
family rooms with large solid sofa tables or fabric ottomans,
and of course bedrooms.

Oriental rugs with an all over design also work very well when ceiling
light fixtures or architectural room elements such as a fireplace are
not centered with the rug.
